Generally, finding a job in Seattle takes some time. But during the holiday season, many opportunities become available, making it a little easier to snag that temporary job and make a few extra dollars in time for the holidays. Here is a list of some of the most common and most current listings available. Many of which have the possibility of becoming long-term positions.
Target:
You know Target is going to be hit hard for last minute holiday shopping needs. Check out local Targets in Downtown and Northgate. Many are hiring seasonal team members to man the cash registers, work the clothing departments, and stock shelves. Also, this seasonal gig may turn into a full time job after the holidays have passed.
Costco:
Another popular holiday madhouse is Costco. Get hired on as a season cashier or work the warehouse floor helping families pick out their next home theater set.
Toys“R”US:
One of the most common seasonal positions I come across in the papers are for Toys “R” US. If you’re capable of helping kids and their parents all day then this is a likely term of employment.
Distribution Centers:
The SODO area of Seattle is another great place to find seasonal work. We all know this area as the slightly decrepit and warehouse ridden region near the stadiums. Many of these warehouses are distribution centers for companies such as UPS, Target, and BestBuy, and are needing to fill temporary positions as their orders begin to ratchet up for the holidays.
